Wood Floor Hardness Data

HARDNESS represents the resistance of wood to wear and marring. It is a standardized and independent measurement indicated by the load required to embed a 0.444 inch ball to one half its diameter in the wood. These figures are used to compare the relative hardness of species only, as noted by the NWFA (National Hardwood Flooring Association – Technical Publication No. A200, Sep-2002).

Bamboo Direct Flooring’s product was independently tested for hardness according to the ASTM D 1037 Standards, at a lab in the United States in October 2003. The results were extremely positive when compared to typical bamboo flooring, as evidenced by the data below:
